Sustainability

Responsible Materials

Material choice plays a significant role in environmental impact. Across our collections, we prioritise more responsible fibres while continuing to evaluate opportunities for improvement.

At Kaija Swim, we use recycled fabrics to create every range. Our fabric choices include ECONYL®, Carvico® in Italy, and REPREVE®.

Our packaging consists of recycled polyester. All of our shipping bags are made from recycled material and are reusable for the customer. Our factories have both SMETA, GOTS certification and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificate thus reducing the use of hazardous chemical components, such as heavy metals, toxic dyes, crop protection substances and carcinogenic substances, which work as a guarantee of maximum excellence.

By using these fabrics, we are reducing our carbon footprint and minimising the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and oceans.

Our core values and main focus is to help reduce the environmental impact of fashion, using sustainable fabrics of high quality. As we produce close to market, we reduce the carbon footprint. We are proud to use only the finest fabrics from Italy and Bali, made from post-consumer materials (including fishing nets and plastic) using recycled instead of virgin polyester produces less carbon emissions. It also keeps plastic out of the oceans.

At KAIJA SWIM we understand the responsibilities we have to our planet and we proudly support the PARLEY FOR THE OCEANS movement. A nonprofit environmental organisation that focuses on the protection of the oceans founded in 2012.

To show support for our oceans, Kaija World Foundation is making a % of all sales donation and creating a donation page to PARLEY, a global environmental organisation and network where creators, thinkers and leaders come together to raise awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans. Parley collaborate on projects that can end their destruction. Working across the creative communities, brands, governments and environmental groups, we take action to protect the oceans, Earth’s largest and most vital ecosystem, with an approach led by creativity, collaboration and eco-innovation.

Consumer Use

Once the product leaves our warehouse, the environmental impact does not end. The way the swimwear is used and treated significantly affects its lifespan. We provide care instructions for our swimwear to help extend it’s longevity, and we encourage our customers to follow these instructions to reduce the need for replacement swimwear.

Our Factory

At Kaija Swim we aspire to be thoughtful across every step of the way. Our team in Bali is more than just a factory, it is a family that has supported the growth of Kaija Swim to make it what it is today. We want to make sure that at all stages we are creating a positive impact on the lives of the people who make our swimwear.

A Message From Our Founder

“I created this brand from a simple but urgent belief: that luxury should never come at the expense of our oceans. For years, I searched for swimwear that embodied elegance, craftsmanship, and integrity — pieces that felt as beautiful in purpose as they did on the body. I couldn’t find it. So I decided to build it. Luxury today must be thoughtful. It must consider origin, impact, and longevity. It must empower the wearer while protecting the places she loves. This brand is for women who understand that true sophistication is conscious. Who believe that style can be both powerful and principled. Who want to move through the world with confidence and care. Thank you all for being part of this journey toward a more responsible future in fashion”
