Founded by model, entrepreneur and creative director Holly Hawkins-Smith in 2023. With a collection of swimsuits celebrated for their cut and fit. Her passion for the industry, combined with a keen awareness of the lack of sustainable swimwear in the market, led her to create KAIJA SWIM. Kaija forms the basis of the modern woman’s swimwear wardrobe; versatile and wearable yet rooted in modernity with a sophisticated ease.
The transition from Model and designer muse to Creative Director of her own brand was a natural one, fuelled by a longtime obsession with design and art, an authentic and meticulous attention to detail, and a distinctly luxurious sensibility that ignites the imagination. Her vision for the brand “sustainable, iconic, perfect fit” for women who want to feel sexy and classy, equally. Highlighting the beauty in modern femininity through timeless silhouettes, iconic cuts and ethical production. SUSTAINABILTY
Sustainability is a core value for KAIJA. The word KAIJA (kai-a) means pure, earth and sea and to us it represents something we want to protect. Our eco-friendly swimwear is made from recycled fishing nets and plastic from the ocean. Our vision is to create iconic, luxury feel, long lasting swimwear, that fits like a glove with the least environmental footprint as possible.
We support traditional and responsible methods of manufacture, both in our Italian Ateliers and our Bali workshops. Our manufacturers have been sourced meticulously and have been chosen for their values and their passion for the future of sustainable fashion. We produce small runs throughout our collections to prevent wastage. Today the brand offering includes ready-to-wear bikinis, swimsuits and timeless jewellery pieces.
Here at Kaija it all begins with sketches, sketching all the inspiration we see daily, allowing us to capture ideas and turn them into creative pieces.
